Away for the weekend

I’m spending this weekend at my parents’ house outside of Rochester, New York, which so far has involved… well, reading, riding, and visiting bookstores. So pretty much what I do at home, just now with my parents. It’s been fun and relaxing, and I read most of Little House on the Prairie this afternoon. Now we are listening to the thunder and hoping we don’t lose power so we can watch Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day a little later.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend too! I’ll be back early next week to talk about books again.

Here’s a picture from today’s ride. (This is my first time blogging from my phone, and I hope the picture uploads.)

  1. Sounds like an idyllic weekend! And Lake Ontario? I was on the other side of it many times when I visit Toronto and Kingston. You’re such a close neighbor. Enjoy Miss P., that’s a fun movie. I look forward to your book talk and your new haul.

  2. Sounds beautiful. I’m having a lovely weekend with my family too! Miss Pettigrew is wonderful – have you read the book?

  3. Have a lovely time, Dorothy! Or at least… continue having a lovely time! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I hope you are having a wonderful time, Dorothy. And, can you send some rain my way ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. What a lovely view! Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend. And how cool that you just blogged from your phone–technology can be great sometimes. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I remember a surprising number of second-hand bookstores between Rochester and the Seneca Falls area: it was a bit of a problem re-crossing the border afterwards! Happy holidaying.

  7. Looks and sounds like a wonderful weekend!

  8. Arti — It was a very nice weekend! I never got to Toronto very often when I lived in Rochester, but I did occasionally, and I always enjoyed it. It would be fun to take a trip up there and meet fellow bloggers!

Readingwithtea — I haven’t read the book, although I’m sure it’s a lot of fun. The movie was a great way to spend an evening with family and Francis McDormand is great.

Litlove — I did continue having a lovely time — thank you!

Iliana — I’d love to! We’ve had quite a bit both in Rochester and back home in Connecticut. If only I could ๐Ÿ™‚

Danielle — I know, isn’t technology amazing! It’s fun sending pictures around so easily — I posted that one on Facebook too, and it’s all so simple.

BuriedinPrint — I honestly can’t believe I didn’t find these stories before! There were quite a few listed in Rochester and in the surrounding suburbs, and I didn’t even branch out much into the regions a little further away.

Stefanie — it was, thank you!
