This quiz got it totally right: it names the city of my birth and also the region where I now live.
Of Books and Bicycles 
That was fun. My result is western and it’s right since I grew up in the San Diego area and it even had San Diego on the map. It was a hard quiz though since I’ve been living in the midwest for over ten years now I don’t always say the same word the same way–my accent is starting to migrate–so I chose the answers according to how I say things most often and still came out western. My CA family may disagree with my results 🙂

It does not work for aliens. The accent detector located me between NJ, CT and RI: I have never been there, although this is probably the part of the US closest to France 😉
BTW; you’ve changed the theme again! Before the banner showed up, I almost thought I’d clicked on the wrong link and had landed on Charlotte’s web. That’s all right. I love the cutline theme (or whatever it’s called), and I’ll probably build on top of it for mandarine’s imminent makeover.

My result was exact too. Apparently I have “the Philadelphia” accent, which is correct seeing as that I live in Philadelphia. Very impressive.
I too love this theme, and am contemplating a switch of my own. But I wonder whether it seems odd to readers who visit from time to time. On one hand, I imagine that it’s nice to keep things fresh, but on the other I know that I associate certain blogs with looks and colors, so it was a little jarring to see this theme on yours. It’s as if someone you haven’t seen in a while has just cut all their hair off or dyed it a different color. You know it’s the same person, but it’s hard.

I know exactly what you mean, Ted, and I’ve thought it would be nice to be one of those bloggers who always has the same theme and so is immediately recognizable — but I also realize that I really like to tinker with the blog’s look! I can’t seem to help myself …
